Human Hair Install Tip: 6 Things To Be Aware of Before Your Next Human Hair Install

We all want to have a great experience with our hairstylist or weavologist...because let's be honest, nothing is worse than booking your human hair bundle install or your human hair wig install appointment, only to show up to be turned away by your hairstylist.

I mean, that is a hell naww moment.  Not what are you going to do?  You have already taken your braids out, you have to go to work tomorrow, and now you can't get your hair done???  What Tha....

No Queen wants this or has time for this!  If you want to make sure you don't get denied at the salon door, stay tuned for 6 Things to Be Aware of Before Your Next Human Hair Install.

Booking your next human hair install appointment is not enough.  You want to make sure you understand how your potential hairstylist operates and determine if you and your hairstylist are a match made in heaven.

Here are 6 Things To Be Aware of Before Your Next Human Hair Install.

  1. Reusing Previously Installed Human Hair Bundles or Frontals:  A lot of Queens spend a lot of money on their human hair bundles so that they can reuse their human hair bundles.  But, the bad news is, there are a lot of hair stylists who will NOT install hair that has already been installed.  If you reused your bundles,  then you may want to find a weavolgist who is willing to install used bundles or frontals.
  2. Freshly relaxed or processed hair:  While you may think it is a good idea to get your hair relaxed before your next human hair wig or human hair bundle install, there are hairstylist who will not do an install if you just got your hair relaxed.  This could be due to the weakened state your edges are in when you relax your hair.  Having your hair relaxed if you are leaving your hair out and not using a frontal maybe ok.
  3. Touching Up or Maintenance over other weavologists work:   I see this a lot as a part of hairstylists policies.  They will not re-install a closure or frontal or tighten up bundles if they did not do the original install.  This is the case with human hair wigs.
  4. Using cut bundles (even if they are new or never been used):  Say for instance you got a sew in a few months ago and you didn't use all of a bundle.  If you take this half used bundle to use with your other new bundles, some hairstylists may not let you use or will not install the half bundle because it is cut.
  5. If you have thinning or damaged hair, you may have to schedule a consultation first: This requirement is for all the right reasons.  Having a consultation (especially if this is the first time you are working with a hair stylist) makes a lot of sense.  This will give them an idea of your #hairgoals and how your sew-in may need to be installed to reduce tension on your edges and reduce damage to your hair.
  6. The hair stylist may REQUIRE you to purchase their hair:  I haven't seen this one a lot (which is good).  I think stylist realize they can get more clients by letting their QUEENS select the human hair extensions and human hair wigs that work best for their lifestyle, budget, and taste.  This is one to be careful of though because there are weavologist who have their own line of human hair products and will require you purchase their human hair.  You will probably end up paying a lot more for their human hair bundles and human wig plus their install.  For example, I was on one website and a hair stylist was selling wigs for $400 and the install was about $300 which make your bill about $700.  Buying A Queendom's Human Hair Wig saves you about $200 on the wig.  Not too bad!

Let me know in the comments below, have you ever shown up to your hair appointment only to be told by your hairstylist that they can't install your human hair bundles or install your wig?  Are there any other questions you ask your hair stylist before you get slayed?  All the Queens in the Queendom want to know.
